Providers of Cellulaze claim that the procedure provides a unique treatment option that eliminates cellulite by attacking fibrous bands below the skin, thickening the skin and increasing the skin’s elasticity. Although Cellulaze is one possible treatment option for cellulite, it is not necessarily the best.

What is Cellulaze?

Cellulaze is a laser-based cellulite spa treatment that works to eliminate the appearance of cellulite by attacking the build up of fat beneath the skin’s surface. Cellulaze is aimed at treating the fibrous bands beneath the skin that hold in fat and push it up to create the dimpled look of cellulite.

Using laser technology, Cellulaze releases these fibrous bands that pull down the skin. These fibrous bands are “attacked” by creating a small incision in the affected area and then breaking them with laser light.

Cellulaze also thickens the skin and increases its elasticity by stimulating collagen production, which helps to smooth the skin and further reduce the appearance of cellulite. The entire Cellulaze treatment is completed in only one appointment, so patients can avoid an extended period of treatment.

Cellulaze Side Effects

Cellulaze also comes along with a list of side effects which patients must seriously consider before deciding whether to undergo the procedure. Since the treatment requires an incision and uses lasers to break down parts of the skin, it can be painful and often results in serious bruising and marks on the skin. Additionally, a number of patients have reported indentations on the treated area following the procedure which never go away and actually look worse than the cellulite did. Given the extreme method of treatment, the procedure can also involve a long period of recovery time, with bruising and sore skin lasting for months.

Because Cellulaze actually requires an incision and breaks down bands below the skin, it also requires most patients to take time off work, which means more cost for patients in terms of vacation or unpaid leave.

  The jury is still out on the effectiveness of Cellulaze. At this point, no long term studies have been conducted on the treatment. Some women have reported great experiences with the treatment and claim that their skin looks just like it did before the cellulite appeared. However, a number of other women have reported serious side effects including permanent indentations on the treated area, and would not recommend the procedure.

Is Cellulaze the best cellulite treatment?

Given the conflicting information on Cellulaze, it is probably not the best cellulite treatment available. The treatment costs a significant amount of money and there is no proof that it will work for a particular patient. There is a substantial amount of pain involved with the treatment and the recovery time can be long and difficult.

For those looking for a less invasive procedure that is affordably priced and supported with more research, a cellulite cream can be a great option. Many of the cellulite creams available today are very affordable and are an effective and fast way to eliminate the appearance of cellulite.
